Oktoberfest, Carnival Rides: 5 Upcoming Festivals, Fairs To Know In GA
Patch has gathered all you need to know about five upcoming festivals and fairs.
GEORGIA — The scent of powdered funnel cakes, giant turkey legs and sausage dogs will soon permeate the air as the Peach State hosts five upcoming festivals and fairs.
These yearly Georgia events celebrate wines and spirits, the arts and agriculture. They offer activities for the whole family.

Helen Oktoberfest 2024
What: The longest-running Oktoberfest in the U.S., this annual event will include a parade that will be held at noon, Sept. 7. Then, the tapping of the first keg will commence at the Fussen Biergarten at the Helen Festhalle.
When: Sept. 5-Oct. 27

Where: Helen Festhalle, 1074 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen
Ticket Pricing: Tickets for kids younger than 6-years-old are free and are half-price for kids ages 6-12. Adults must pay $10 Monday-Thursday, $12 Friday and Saturday and are free Sunday. A Friday-Saturday pass is available for $20. Active and retired military personnel are free with a military ID.
Blue Ridge Mountains Wine and Jazz Festival
What: This event will include jazz music, wines, fine art and food. Organizers said both international and local wines will be available. Guests may bring blankets and lawn chairs.
When: noon-7 p.m., Sept. 7
Where: White Path Creek Farms, 1211 Old Northcutt Road, Ellijay
Ticket Pricing: General admission tickets are $85 and VIP seating will be $200.50. As of Friday morning, five VIP tables of eight were available for $1,585.60.
Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival 2024
What: This event, with five stages hosting performances, will include at least 150 fine arts and crafts booths and a performance from Atlanta puppeteer Lee ‘That Puppet Guy’ Bryan. An interactive family area, street performers, a specialty beer garden and a global food village will be available.
When: Sept. 20 – 22
Where: Broad Street, downtown Augusta
Ticket Pricing: Badges bought in advance will cost $15 and are good for the entire weekend. Kids ages 10 and younger are free.
Georgia State Fair
What: Annual fair that includes a Jurassic Kingdom Dinosaur Show, Steamers Thrill Show, comedy hypnotist, karaoke, carnival rides, kiddie rides, food and petting zoo. Pricing and itinerary information was not immediately available. Vendor applications are here.
When: Sept. 27-Oct. 6 (times vary)
Where: Atlanta Motor Speedway, 1500 Tara Place, Hampton
Georgia National Fair
What: The 35th annual fair will feature livestock competitions, concerts, horses, rides, food and Georgia Living competitions.
When: Oct. 3-13
Where: Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricultural Center, 401 Larry Walker Pkwy., Perry
Ticket Pricing: Advance admission tickets ($14) and mega passes, including entry and unlimited ride armband ($35), will become available at 9 a.m., Sept. 3. As for general pricing, tickets for kids 10 and younger are free, tickets for visitors ages 11-60 are $15 and guests older than 60-years-old will require tickets costing $10. Ride armbands will cost $30-$35 depending on the day.
