One Charged In Connection With Atlanta University Center Shooting

Four women were shot last month outside a university library. Now, one man has turned himself in to police.

ATLANTA — A 21-year-old man has surrendered to police in connection with a shooting last month that left four female students injured. Isaiah Williams turned himself in to police on Wednesday. Williams surrendered after police released a video of a suspect they believed to have been involved in the shooting, which happened outside a library in the Atlanta University Center complex.

The shooting happened around 10:30 pm on Aug. 20, when police said they believe two rival groups began shooting at each other, catching the four students in the crossfire. Atlanta University Center is a collection of some of the nation's most prestigious historically black colleges and universities in the nation, and includes the campuses of Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and the Morehouse School of Medicine.

The students have been identified as Erin Ennis, 18; Maia Williams-McLaren, 18; Elyse Spencer, 18; and Kia Thomas, 19. Two are Clark Atlanta students and two are attending Spelman College. The shooting happened outside a Clark Atlanta library.
