167K Pounds Of Perdue Chicken Nuggets Recalled: What To Know
Officials said customers were complaining of metal wire embedded in their chicken nuggets and tenders from Georgia-based Perdue Foods.
PERRY, GA — More than 167,000 pounds of chicken breast nuggets and tenders from Georgia-based Perdue Foods were recently recalled after food safety officials said they could contain metal.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, which announced the recall Friday, said about 167,171 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products may contain the foreign material. These products were shipped to nationwide retailers and were sold directly to online customers, food safety officials said.
Customers were complaining of metal wire embedded in their products to the FSIS, leading to the discovery of the potentially contaminated products, food safety officials said.
