Plane Catches Fire At Atlanta Airport; No Injuries Reported
A Spirit Airlines plane caught fire after its brakes overheated Sunday morning. No injuries were reported and operations were not affected.
ATLANTA, GA — A Spirit Airlines plane caught fire at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday morning, according to airport officials. No injuries were reported.
The airplane's landing gear caught fire around 9:25 a.m. after its brakes overheated. The Atlanta Fire Department put out the fire, and the plane, which had arrived from Tampa, was towed to a gate, where passengers exited the plane, officials said.
Airport operations were not impacted by the fire.
