Saturday: Atlanta Public Schools' Back-to-School Bash
Atlanta Public Schools is having their Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center.

ATLANTA, GA -- Atlanta Public Schools students, parents, teachers and administrators will convene at the Georgia World Congress Center on Saturday, July 29 for the biggest party of the year, APS'Back-to-School Bash. The event, in its third year, is a bazaar for all things APS and will feature a bevy of corporate leaders as well as V-103 radio personalities Ryan Cameron, Frank Ski & Big Tigger.
The event's vendor list will feature a who's who of Atlanta community stewards, including Zoo Atlanta, The College Football Hall of Fame, Soccer in the Streets, Georgia Aquarium, STEM Wars, Marcus Autism Center, the Atlanta Dream, Metro PCS and Mercy Care. The Atlanta Police Department will also be on hand and will present some demonstrations.
The event will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Hall C, located at 285 Andrew Young International Blvd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. The bash is seen as a necessary precursor to the first day of school, Tuesday, Aug. 1, in the school district. More than 70 exhibitors are expected at the event, which will feature free immunizations, health screenings, community and afterschool resources and fun activities for children.
Students will also get to enjoy raffles, prize giveaways and a free backpack stuffed with school supplies (while supplies last). To gain access to the event and get a backpack, APS students must show their report cards.

The event is sponsored by Newell Brands while Delta Air Lines is the gold sponsor.
“Newell Brands is honored to once again team with Atlanta Public Schools and the Kids in Need Foundation for this year’s Back to School Bash,” Kaye Morgan-Curtis, senior manager of Global Philanthropy at Newell Brands, said in a news release. “As a sponsor of this incredible event, we’re hoping that our participation inspires other companies, organizations and individuals to join us in our partnership to provide access to school supplies for every Atlanta Public Schools student.”
Across from the Congress Center, attendees can park for free in the yellow parking at the corner of Ivan Allen and Northside Drive (while spaces are available). All APS families can attend the bash for free.
