Smoke-Free Atlanta Law In The Works At City Hall
The city council is considering a new law that would ban virtually any instance of indoor smoking in Atlanta.
ATLANTA -- The Atlanta City Council is considering a new law that would ban virtually all indoor smoking at any building in the city. The bill, which was introduced late Monday afternoon in the city council, would prohibit restaurants from having indoor smoking areas, as well as at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
City councilmen Post 2 At Large Matt Westmoreland from Midtown and Post 3 At Large Andre Dickens are co-sponsors.
The city has already banned smoking in restaurants, but this proposal would also prohibit smoking in bars and public spaces. Smokers at the airport would be forced to go outside.
