GA Officer Injured In Crash; Driver Charged
Charges are pending against a 19-year-old driver in connection with a crash that injured a police officer in South Fulton.
SOUTH FULTON, GA — A South Fulton Police officer was injured after being hit by a car Thursday at Cascade Road near Old Cascade Road, the Georgia State Patrol said.
The crash happened around 7:30 a.m., when the officer was assisting with a prior crash involving a pedestrian, the GSP said.
While investigating the crash, the GSP said the officer was hit by an approaching 2013 Toyota Corolla. The officer suffered serious injuries that were not threatening, the GSP said.

The officer was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, the GSP said. The status of the officer was not immediately known.
Charges are pending against the 19-year-old driver from Atlanta in connection with the crash, the GSP said. Authorities did not specify the charges.

The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with the crash investigation.
