  1. An Atlanta Subway customer is accused of shooting and killing an employee for putting too much mayonnaise on his sandwich. The shooting took place Sunday evening at the Circle K on 74 Northside Drive SW. A 26-year-old woman was fatally shot in the incident; a 24-year-old employee is reported to be in critical condition. The suspect, a 36-year-old male, has not been publicly identified amid the ongoing investigation. (Atlanta Patch)
  2. The Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. (SCFG) has announced that registration for the 42nd annual Sickle Cell Race/Walk is open. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Sep. 10 in downtown East Point, just outside Atlanta. Racers can register online and use the promo code "Earlybird" through Jun. 30 for $5 off.   3. Atlanta's Illuminarium is officially launching its newest exhibit, SPACE: A Journey To The Moon & Beyond. The immersive experience takes participants on a journey across the galaxy, from simulated rocket take-offs to a 3D movement system that tracks visitors' steps on the "moon." SPACE premieres tomorrow, Wednesday, Jun. 29; tickets are available for purchase online. (FanBolt)
  4. A prominent Atlanta music executive was shot on Sunday night in Buckhead, where two other men were also shot. Chaka Zulu, co-CEO of Disturbing Tha Peace Records and manager to hip-hop artist Ludacris, was hospitalized along with another man; one victim did not survive his injuries. As of Monday, Atlanta police do not have a suspect in custody, nor have they released the condition of Zulu and the other surviving victim. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  5. The Briarcliff Mansion in Atlanta has gone through many transformations over the years. Now, the long-abandoned legendary property will be converted into a senior living community, thanks to Emory University. Additional details on the project will be revealed during a virtual community meeting today (Tuesday, Jun. 28) at 6:30 p.m., with an in-person meeting scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday, Jun. 29) at 5:30 p.m. at the Claudia Nance Rollins Building.
