ATLANTA, GA — A suspicious package forced a police probe Monday at a building that houses the Consulate General of Israel, Atlanta Police said.

Officers responded to the call around 10:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of Spring Street Northwest. Police said the response included SWAT and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit.

Ultimately, police said officers did not deem the package a threat and said it was a shoebox containing a household item. Police said they safely discarded the package.

"No further threats were located, and the scene was cleared," police said in a news release.
