Teen Accused Of Shooting At Officers Arrested In Atlanta

SWAT found the teenage boy hiding in a wood line near a vacant property in Atlanta, police say.

ATLANTA, GA — A 16-year-old boy is facing multiple charges after police say he shot at Atlanta officers Wednesday evening at Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.

Atlanta Police on Thursday said officers responded to a suspicious persons call around 6:15 p.m. to Lowery, and while they investigated, the unnamed boy pulled out a gun and shot a round at officers.

The boy then ran from the scene and went into a vacant property in the 70 block of Newcastle Street Northwest, police said. Multiple APD units, including SWAT and the drone unit, were then activated, police said.

SWAT then entered the property and established a perimeter, during which the boy was found hiding in a wood line near the property, police said. He was arrested without incident, police said.
