Teen Charged With Murder In Early Morning Atlanta Shooting Death

Police investigators continue to look for suspects in four other deadly shootings from early Monday morning.

ATLANTA — A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder in connection with one of the Atlanta weekend shooting deaths, police said.

Early Monday morning, a man was shot to death outside Lacura Bar and Bistro at 1919 Metropolitan Parkway. Investigators eventually identified the teen as a suspect, and secured warrants to charge him with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18, police said.

The teen turned himself in to police and was taken to jail, police said. He is not being identified because he is a juvenile.

Three more shooting deaths were reported early Monday morning, and investigators continue to work to track down and arrest suspects.

“Our investigators have been at work since early this morning, working tirelessly to identify those behind each” of the killings, a police statement said. “We are extremely proud of the work each of our investigators has put in and we remain committed to bringing those responsible for violence in our city to justice.”
