Teen 'Responsible' For Shooting Death Of 9-Year-Old Atlanta Boy: Police

Atlanta Police homicide detectives are investigating the deadly shooting of 9-year-old Kemoni Mack.

ATLANTA, GA – A 9-year-old boy was shot and killed Wednesday evening in southeast Atlanta, police said.

Atlanta Police officers called to 1754 Richmond Circle arrived around 10:15 p.m. to find Kemoni Mack with a gunshot wound. The boy died at the home and the police homicide unit was called in to investigate.

Police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown said investigators determined that a 16-year-old is responsible for the shooting but more details were not immediately available.

“They are examining the physical evidence along with statements that have been provided throughout the investigation and will make a charging decision at the appropriate time,” Brown said of the homicide detectives.
