Thieves Steal $200K In Diamonds From Underground Atlanta Store

Thieves take $200,000 worth of diamonds from a jewelry store in Underground Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA -- Police in Atlanta are searching for four thieves who walked away with about $200,000 in diamonds and other items after robbing a jewelry store at Underground Atlanta. The heist took place on May 24 at one of the city's most iconic tourist attractions.

The quarrelsome quartet busted into the store, smashed the display cases and got away with their booty all in under 3 minutes, police said. In addition to diamonds, the sticky fingered foursome took watches and other jewelry from the Diamond & Company store. Security video shows the perpetrators adorned in black or dark-colored garb, including gloves and hoodies, racing up the stairs.

Atlanta police believe the crooks may have visited the store earlier in the day or at another time to case the place.
