Two Children Arrested In Easter Armed Robbery On The Beltline

An 11-year-old and a 12-year-old have been arrested in connection with an Easter evening robbery on the Beltline.

ATLANTA -- Two children have been arrested by police after allegedly robbing a woman who was walking on the Atlanta Beltline on Easter Sunday evening. The children, ages 11 and 12, were arrested Monday, according to Atlanta police. A third child, age 12, was detained by police but not arrested, the department said Tuesday afternoon.

The victim told police she was walking on the Beltline in southwest Atlanta when the children, who she said looked between the ages of 8 and 10, approached her and asked to use her cellphone. When she refused, one of the children displayed a gun in his waistband.

The children, she said, then demanded her cell phone and ear buds. The woman turned the items over, and then the children ran toward Lawton Street.
