Volunteers Spruce Up Little Creek Horse Farm In Decatur
Volunteers from the Home Depot and Park Pride join forces to renovate Decatur's Little Creek Horse.
DECATUR, GA -- DeKalb County volunteers recently teamed up with Home Depot employees and Park Pride to spruce up Little Creek Horse Farm in Decatur. More than 150 people worked nearly 800 hours, totaling $18,255 in savings for DeKalb's Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs.
The volunteers last week performed an assortment of jobs, including building picnic tables, repairing wheelchair accessible ramps and fences. “The county is extremely grateful for the support and engagement from volunteers such as the Home Depot and Park Pride,” Marvin Billups Jr., interim director of DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, said in a news release. “Volunteers are essential to making sure that special projects are completed and aid the county in improving the quality of life for all residents.”

Little Creek Horse Farm, a DeKalb County facility, operates through a partnerhip with Little Creek Farm Conservancy, which educates the community on equine and safety programs.
