- Suburban Atlanta voters are taking legal action against Cobb County election officials after never receiving absentee ballots. Officials should have mailed over 1,000 absentee ballots to voters who requested them. The lawsuit asks officials to overnight the ballots to voters with an extended deadline. (GPB News)
- A discharged patient from Emory Hospital Midtown jumped into a running ambulance while paramedics were in the hospital and drove away on Monday morning. Police caught the 33-year-old man a short time later, and he is now in custody and charged with theft, running a red light, and failure to maintain a lane. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is donating $1.3 million to 30 organizations working to advance equity in income and wealth, housing and neighborhoods, and power and leadership. Five thousand affordable housing units will be created by 2026 because of the grant, and 15 businesses received $500,000 through the Income & Wealth TogetherATL Fund. Funding will go toward paid leave for employees, investments for financial coaches, programs to help support college students, and more. (Metro Atlanta CEO)
- Thirty-three individuals were displaced after a DeKalb County apartment caught fire, and police detained a 12-year-old boy for possibly starting it. The boy woke his mother up and told her his room was on fire. Her daughter and boyfriend had to jump out of the apartment window to escape. The residents' condition is unknown at this time, as is whether police will charge the boy. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- An Atlanta pastor is going viral after calling young Black men to the altar and issuing a call to action against crime and violence. The pastor, Jamal Bryant, mentioned six rappers killed over the last few months, including the most recent passing of Atlanta-based rapper Takeoff. (WSB Atlanta)
