Wreck Kills Three, Closes NB Connector To Early Morning Traffic

All lanes were closed early Friday as police investigated the deadly wreck just north of Atlanta's Downtown Connector.

ATLANTA, GA — Three are dead after an early morning wreck that closed all lanes on the Downtown Connector northbound, police said.

The incident was initially reported just after 5 a.m., on I-85 North, just past 17th Street, according to Channel 2 Action News. Police confirmed to the station that there were three fatalities resulting from the accident.

Police diverted traffic to I-75 North until crews were able to clear the wreck from the highway. The highway was open again by 8 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
