  1. The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery at Sunny's Corner Store on May 3. The store is located at 2302 Wheeless Road. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at 706-821-1451 or 706-821-1080. Callers can remain anonymous. (WRDW)
  2. Augusta has been chosen as one of the initial five cities for President Joe Biden's Investing in America agenda, aimed at boosting the economy and creating good-paying jobs. The investment will focus on preparing and creating pathways for Augustans to benefit from the jobs created by the American Rescue Plan. The initiative aims to rebuild the economy and is part of Biden's broader agenda. (The Augusta Press)
  3. A man has been arrested after allegedly threatening police officers at Glenn Hills High School. The disruption occurred when the man's daughter was involved in a fight during school dismissal. The man and a woman shouted threats at the officers, with the man resisting arrest and exhibiting aggressive behavior. He is facing charges of disruption and interference with a school, assault on an officer, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. (WFXG)

  • The Class of 2023's graduation ceremony for all RCSS high schools will be held at the James Brown Arena from May 24-26. Please remember that doors open 20 minutes before the ceremony, parking is available, balloons and noisemakers are not allowed, and water can be purchased at the concession stands.   • The A.S.H.E.R training held on May 18 by Augusta Fire/EMA was highly successful, with participation from multiple agencies in Augusta. The collaboration was outstanding, resulting in valuable learning experiences and enhanced skills, fostering a stronger sense of safety and security in the community.   • A group of nursing students showed their support by assisting fellow students in completing their scholarship applications recently.
