2 Men Escape Through Sunroof After Car Crashes Into Brookhaven Lake
Two men escape with their lives after car sinks in Brookhaven lake.
BROOKHAVEN, GA -- The two occupants of a car that plunged into a lake Sunday in Brookhaven had to scurry through the sunroof to escape, Patch has learned.
The two men then swam through Murphey Candler Lake to the shore, police said.
Both men escaped injury in the incident, which began when they were trying to park the car by the lake, Brookhaven Police spokesman, Maj. Brandon Gurley, told news media.

Pictures broadcast on WSB-TV showed the car, a dark-colored four-door sedan, being pulled out of the lake by a tow truck.
It is not known whether the men drove the car into the lake by accident or by some other mishap.

Murphey Candler Lake is one of the city's great fishing holes, known for its bass and catfish. The lake is located in Murphey Candler Park, a 135-acre green space with tennis courts, a football field and other sports activities.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a dive team assisted in getting the car out of the lake.
