Atlanta Man Killed After Being Shot, Run Over By Car In Brookhaven

Police say the man was pulled out of a car on I-85 south, where he was found with a single gunshot wound, before being run over by the car.

BROOKHAVEN — Police are searching for a car they say was used in the killing of a 28-year-old Atlanta man who had been shot, and then, hit with the car in the area of North Druid Hills Road and Interstate 85.

Police said Thursday officers responded Friday to the area after a witness said she saw a silver Honda Pilot driving on North Druid Hills while someone's feet were hanging halfway out of the passenger door.

The Honda continued onto the I-85 south ramp before stopping alongside the curb, police said. The man was then pulled out of the car before the Honda fled the scene, running over the man's feet and legs, police said.

While investigating, police said they found video footage that showed the suspect driving into the parking lot of a local restaurant around 3:45 p.m. and parking before talking to Rackley.

Police said Rackley was then seen walking away from the scene before returning and getting into the passenger side of the suspect's car.

The car then left the restaurant parking lot and went onto North Druid Hills all while Rackley's feet were partially outside of the car, police said.

Police did not identify the suspect; however, a be-on-the-lookout has been issued for the Honda Pilot. Police said the Pilot is between a 2003 and a 2008 model with an unknown tag and a large dent on the rear driver-side bumper.
