Award-winning Storyteller and Children's Book Author Visits Brookhaven
Carmen Agra Deedy tells her stories of growing up as a Cuban refugee in the south
With the rythm of poetry and the timing of a comedian, New York Times Best-Selling Children's Book Author Carmen Agra Deedy told stories of her childhood by reciting excerpts of her books during a special appearance at this week.
Deedy has an entertaining style and a razor-shap wit that allows her to transcend the adult-child barrier and touch her audience with laughter and life lessons.
During an appearance this week at PATH Academy, a charter school for mainly refugee students, Deedy somehow made her experience immigrating from Cuba to America funny.
