Brookhaven Launching New Event For Mother/Sons

Brookhaven is hosting a Mother's Day dance.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Building on the success of the Daddy/Daughter Dance held every February, the City of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department is launching its first ever Mother/Son Dance event planned for Saturday, May 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lynwood Park Recreation Center, 3360 Osborne Road.

β€œWhen we saw how successful the Daddy/Daughter dance was (the event sold out), we thought it would be a great idea to let moms create their own similar special memories with their sons,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brian Borden. β€œWe hope this is the beginning of a tradition that will allow mothers and sons to share a fun, memorable evening together that they will always remember.”

For just $25 per mother/son couple, there will be refreshments, decorations, giveaways and a DJ playing the latest hit songs and taking special requests. A photographer will be on site to capture moms and their sons’ special evening for an additional cost. Intended for boys ages 5-15, additional siblings are also welcome to attend at $5 per extra child. If Mom is not available, β€œsubstitute” moms (grandmother, aunt, etc.) are welcome to fill the role.
