Brookhaven’s ElectroBike Shop is a Family Affair

Father and daughter duo, Eric and Caroline Hunger, help people of all ages find the perfect e-bike for recreation, commuting or both!

Forbes Magazine has called e-bikes “the hottest thing on two wheels” and no one knows this better than father and daughter duo, Eric and Caroline Hunger. The Sandy Springs residents can be found most days at Eric’s ElectroBike shop in Brookhaven or the Beltline’s Atlanta Bicycle Barn, outfitting customers with e-bikes, helmets, bicycle accessories and more. Often they are joined by a third family member, “shop dog” Emma, who greets customers with a friendly thump of her tail, and perhaps a curious sniff. www.electrobikega.com; www.atlbikebarn.com

Working together has been a happy surprise for Eric and Caroline. Owning and operating both ElectroBike Georgia and the Atlanta Bicycle Barn on the Beltline has been a “second act” for Eric, who retired a couple of years ago from a successful sales and marketing career. After working for several years in law enforcement, Caroline decided to attend grad school, and was looking for part-time employment during this transitional period. Both say they are grateful for the opportunity to spend their days together working in the family business.

Eric and his wife, Beth, grew up in Sandy Springs and raised their two daughters there. As long-time local residents, Eric and Caroline know first-hand about Atlanta’s traffic issues, as well as recreational trail options – two of the biggest factors in an e-bike purchase. They also exemplify the generational appeal of e-bikes, which are popular with people of all ages and family groups, too. Working together has given father and daughter a deeper appreciation of each other’s talents and abilities, and a chance to step out of the traditional father/daughter roles during the work day and enjoy building a business together.
