Brothers, Woman Convicted Of Multiple Brookhaven Robberies: DA
The duo was convicted of robbing multiple people at gunpoint in unrelated incidents along Buford Highway.
BROOKHAVEN, GA — Two brothers and a woman accused in a string of robberies between December 2019 to January 2020 in Brookhaven were recently convicted of the crimes, DeKalb County Sherry Boston's office said Wednesday.
Boston said in a news release the robberies happened from Dec. 13, 2019 through Jan. 24, 2020.
A jury on Tuesday found Edrick Agee, 35, of Forest Park, guilty of two counts of armed robbery, criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and aggravated assault, the release said.

Avonte Treon Fortson, 41, of Riverdale, was found guilty on two counts of armed robbery, the release said.
Elizabeth Edmonds, 32, who shares children with Agee, was identified as the getaway driver, the release said. Edmonds pleaded guilty in February 2022 to unknown charges and was sentenced to eight years of probation.

Both Agee and Fortson were convicted of robbing multiple people at gunpoint in unrelated incidents at Buford Highway apartment complexes, the release said.
During one of the robberies, the duo was accused of shooting a man while robbing him and his girlfriend, the release said. The man survived his injuries.
"While speaking with police shortly after she was robbed, one of the victims noticed that her stolen bank card had been used at a (store). Officers went to the store and identified Defendants Edmonds and Fortson as the people who had used the victim’s card," the release said.
Edmonds' car was placed at the scene of most of the robberies using license plate readers, the release said. Detectives interviewed Edmonds, and she cooperated with them, the release said.
DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Shondeana Morris will schedule sentencing hearings for Agee and Fortson sometime next week.
