Can't Make It to the Capitol for the Brookhaven Cityhood Hearing? Watch it Live Online!

Expect to see many of your neighbors at the capitol this afternoon testifying for or against the proposed legislation to incorporate Brookhaven.

Citizens can use the House Legislative Network  view the House Governmental Affairs Committee Meeting through a live video stream online.

Although the proceedings are slightly delayed due to the buffering or the time it takes for a computer to compensate for differences in the rate of flow of data between operating systems, the entire meeting is streamed real time and available by visiting the online network on the Georgia House of Representatives website.

The House Governmental Affairs Committee will hear the testimony of proponents and those opposed to HB 636 - the bill introduced by State Rep. Mike Jacobs to create a charter for the proposed City of Brookhaven.

Last week, Jacbos created by the Carl Vinson Institute. Today at 3 p.m., the committee convenes again at the State Capitol in room 341 where members of the public will have an opportunity to testify before the committee.

Those wishing to speak must sign in are encouraged to arrive at least 30 minutes early for any direction from the staff. The committee chairman determines how much time to give for testimony before the meeting.
