Carjacked Family Worried After Bricks Shatter Neighbor's Windows

Family members said they fear the armed robbers may be trying to intimidate them to silence.

A Brookhaven family carjacked outside their apartment this week said they're worried after someone threw bricks through a neighbor's window late Thursday night.

The neighbor, who lives next to the family on Briarwood Road off Buford Highway, said shattered glass struck one of his children in the forehead, according to wsbtv.com.

From the story:

He went to the hospital but should be OK. Residents in the apartment building off Briarwood Road think the carjackers tried to intimidate their victims into silence but threw the bricks through the wrong windows.

"He's really scared," said the translator. "They're afraid because the children were crying because they don't know what happened."

The carjacked family was near their apartment complex's entrance Monday night when they were approached by three masked, armed suspects in a black Lexus. One of the suspects, holding a shotgun, forced the father, the mother, two 4-year-old boys and a 7-month-old boy from their Chevy Tahoe before speeding off.
