Outpatient clinical facility was approved by DeKalb County late last year.

ATLANTA, GA -- Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has plans for new pediatric hospital at its campus at North Druid Hills Road, the organization announced Thursday.

“As the only freestanding pediatric healthcare system in Georgia, we need to ensure that we are able to serve the children in our state,” Donna Hyland, president and CEO said in a statement. “To meet growing demand, we must find more ways to provide access to those who need Children’s unique specialized care by improving and expanding our facilities.”

Based on capacity data and 10- to 20-year projections, the not-for-profit organization made the decision to expand its facilities to accommodate future growth. The new campus will be at the interchange of North Druid Hills Road and Interstate 85.
