Flash Flood Warning in Effect for Metro Atlanta

More than 1,500 Georgia Power Customers are without electricity.

A flash flood warning remains in effect for much of Metro Atlanta until 9:45 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. 

Rainfall in excess of two and three inches occurred during the early morning causing caused most creeks - particularly those in DeKalb County - to reach bankfull conditions.

Additionally, as of 7 a.m., Georgia Power reported nearly 1,500 customers in metro Atlanta experienced power outages as a result of the storms.

The NWS predicts that showers will likely remain until 1 p.m. Today's forecast is cloudy, with a high near 59. Northwest wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
