How to Pick Safe Halloween Costumes for Your Kids
Here are some tips to consider when shopping.

If you're one of the 158 million Americans expected to celebrate Halloween this year, according to theΒ National Retail Federation, consider the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office's tips on choosing safe costumes.
Avoiding long costumes that hit the ground, high heels and oversized shoesΒ that could cause a fall; masks that obstruct vision or breathing; and accessories with sharp edges are among the suggestions, as are choosing bright colors and adding a reflective stripe and carrying a flashlight or glow stick.
NRF predictsΒ Americans will spendΒ $2.6 billion on Halloween costumesΒ for adults, children and pets. Total spending on Halloween 2013, includingΒ costumes, treats andΒ festivities, will reach $6.9 billion, it says.
