Lenox Park Development Rejected By Brookhaven Commissioners
$65-million, 273-unit apartment complex shot down by Brookhaven Planning Commissioners.
BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Tired of the glut of apartments that have popped up in Brookhaven in recent years and what more would do to property values, residents at a recent Planning Commission meeting spoke out against a $65 million apartment development in Lenox Park.
Planning Commissioners listened to them, voting 5-2 that the City Council deny a rezoning request that would have facilitated the project's construction.
While there were some residents in favor of the plan, others cited that by allowing the apartments the commissioners would not be abiding by Lenox's Park's master plan, which calls for more office space, according to Intown Atlanta.

Longtime Lenox Park resident Andrew Dugenske said the project would hurt the value of singe-family homes. βNo more apartments in this area,β he said, according to the Brookhaven Post.
The 273-unit complex would have been anchored by a coffee shop and joined thousands of others of apartments in the area.
