Man Found Dead In Car On I-85 In DeKalb: Report

Update - 11:30 a.m.: Police said that a preliminary investigation indicates that there was no foul play involved, and that the motorist died from natural causes.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Law enforcement officers found a man dead in his car on Interstate 85 southbound Tuesday morning, according to news reports.

A white male was found slumped over behind the wheel of a car on the shoulder, police told local media. First responders arrived on the scene to treat what they described as "a medical emergency," but it quickly became a death investigation when they realized the man could not be revived, according to WAGA-TV.

Traffic was not impacted, but a caravan of police cars, a HERO unit and emergency vehicles could be seen on the side of the interstate, just before the Shallowford Road exit. Law enforcement were on the scene about 9 a.m. waiting for the medical examiner before they proceed.
