βMondays With Madeleine' Virtual Brookhaven Town Hall To Feature SJREC Chairman John Funny
The session is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 28.

The public is invited to join District 3 Councilwoman Madeleine Simmons for the June edition of her βMondays With Madeleineβ town hall, taking place the last Monday of each month.
This monthβs town hall will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be held Monday, June 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. via video conference, and will be broadcast on Facebook Live on the Cityβs Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BrookhavenGAgov.

This monthβs event will also include Brookhavenβs Social Justice, Race and Equity Commission Chairman John Funny.
βIt was this meeting a year ago that Chairman Funny and I started discussing the need for a social justice commission,β said Simmons. βI am proud of how far we have come in this short time, and Iβm looking forward to talking about it during the town hall.β

βWhat was a kernel of an idea a year ago is now a full-fledged commission with over 30 members who are tackling issues like police use of force and hiring and retention practices in the City,β said Funny.β Iβm looking forward to discussing how far weβve come and what remains in store.β
