One person was injured and more than 200 elderly residents were evacuated from a Brookhaven apartment complex Wednesday night after a fire broke out in one of the units, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
The incident occured around 8 p.m. at the , which houses primarily seniors in the 2400 block of East Club Drive off Peachtree road.
Public Safety Director William 'Wiz' Miller told Channel 2 news that the incident was a worse case scenario because elderly tenants had to exit the building by the stairs and out into a cold weather.
