Sinkhole Causes Brookhaven Traffic Delays

BROOKHAVEN, GA — Buford Highway remained closed at Briarwood Road mid-morning Wednesday due to a sinkhole in the 3500-3600 block north of Buford Highway, Brookhaven Police said.

The Georgia Department of Transportation was on the scene around 9:45 a.m. and will determine what caused the sinkhole, police said.

It is unknown how long the road will be closed, police said.

Channel 2 Action News reported traffic delays were in the area, and alternate routes can include Interstate 85, Peachtree Road, Briarcliff Road or Dresden Drive.
