Suspects May Be Responsible for 15 Burglaries

Suspects were all juveniles.

 

Three male suspects arrested in a in Brookhaven may be responsible for more than two dozen other burglaries, including a rash of home invasions in the Drew Valley neighborhood, DeKalb County police said Thursday.

Following several complaints from homeowners in the Brookhaven neighborhood, officers activated a sting operation. They observed a beige color Ford Expedition fitting the description of a vehicle seen leaving the scene of multiple burglarized homes, police said.

According to a prepared statement released by the department, officers executed a traffic stop along Briarwood Way and detained three juveniles inside the car. Officers also seized several stolen items including flat screen TV’S, laptops, i-pods and a gun. Detectives said they suspect that the items were taken from residential locations along Plaster road earlier in the day.

Nearly a half-dozen police cruisers occupied Briarwood Way in Drew Valley Tuesday morning as officers made several arrests, just across the street from the .

The suspects - whose names were being withheld because they are minors - are 11, 14, and 16 years old. The 11-year old was released. The teenagers were remanded to the Regional Youth Detention Center.
