Four Meetings, Events This Week For Brookhaven City Council

An open house, two public hearings and a city council meeting are set for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.


Two public hearings, an open house and a special meeting of the Brookhaven city council are on the calendar this week in DeKalb's newest and largest municipality.

On Monday, Jan. 14, the city council will hold a specially called meeting that begins at 6:30 pm. On the agenda is an item that was tabled from last week's meeting that regulates adult- or sexually-oriented businesses, such as Buford Highway's Pink Pony, within the city limits.

Immediately following the city council meeting will be a public hearing on the city's proposed zoning and sign ordinances.

Both meetings on Monday night are being held at the "Little White House" at 2536 Caldwell Road in Brookhaven.

On Tuesday night, another public hearing will be held at 7:30 pm on the sign and zoning ordinances, at the Cowart Family YMCA, 3692 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Both the zoning and sign codes are expected to be similiar to DeKalb County's.

The city is also holding an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 2-3:30 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013. The city's temporary offices are located at 200 Ashford Center North. City personnel will be on hand to answer questions on community development and finance.
