Weekend Planner: Opera Benefit, River Rafting, McDonald's and More

A list of things going on in and around the Brookhaven area this weekend.

  1. On the Light Side: A Musical "Indoor Picnic" Fundraiser Benefiting Capitol City Opera: Saturday. This year’s theme is "Around the World in Music," and features selections from musicals set in countries around the world. Attendees are invited to bring their own “Indoor Picnic” dinners, including adult libations, and experience beautiful music in the air-conditioned indoors. The event will also feature a silent auction, raffles and door prizes.
  2. Sixth Annual Chattahoochee River Summer Splash: Saturday. Make a big splash at the coolest event this summer, the Sixth Annual Summer Splash! Float in a kayak, canoe or raft and beat the heat in your six-mile journey of discovery down the Chattahoochee River.
  3. Coffee and Contacts at Jason's Deli/Sandy Springs: Friday. Coffee and Contacts networking events are open to all business people in the Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Perimeter communities. We encourage you to attend and bring anyone that may benefit from making new friends and contacts.
  4. Pike Nurseries Reveals Secrets To Creating The Perfect Terrarium: On Saturday, July 27, all Pike Nurseries locations will host a free Guide to Terrariums Class, where participants will learn how to build and care for a terrarium.
  5. NORTH DRUID HILLS MCDONALD'S RESTAURANT GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION: Saturday. Guests include Ronald McDonald, the Atlanta Silverbacks – Atlanta’s professional soccer team – the Silverbacks’ team mascot, and licensed massage therapists providing free massages to attendees.
