Thursday
What: Celebrity chef-owner Art Smithβs acclaimed Southern eatery is turning one! On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, in addition to the creative menu items, the first 50 guests to dine at the restaurant will receive a complimentary cupcake for dessert β some of which have a special prize hidden inside including tickets to signed cookbooks, dinner for two at Southern Art and a grand prize of a trip for two to InterContinental Chicago Hotel and dinner for two at chef Smithβs renowned restaurant Table 52.
On Thursday, from 5 to 10 p.m., Bourbon Bar will offer a featured Four Roses bar with $1 bourbon-based shots, $1 ham bites and live music.

What: More than 60 restaurants, including those in Brookhaven are participating at whatβs being called βAtlantaβs premier foodie event,β the 11th annual Taste of Atlanta. Come taste the best Atlanta has to offer in food, wine, beer, cocktails and desserts. Yes, Sugar Shack will be there with some delicious sweet treats!
Friday night the event kicks off with The Big Grill, A Salute to Atlanta Chefs, at 7:30 p.m.

What: Georgia Shakespeare wraps up its 2012 season with a thrilling production of ShakespeareβsΒ Macbeth, produced in partnership with National Black Arts Festival and presented by Fifth Third Bank, on stage Oct. 4 β 28,Β at the Conant Performing Arts Center on the campus of Oglethorpe University.Β Nationally renowned theatre artist Raelle Myrick-Hodges directs the production, which features a predominantly African-American cast and commemorates the 75th anniversary of Orson Wellesβ dynamic 1936Β Voodoo Macbeth.

What: Join Chef Carlin Breinig at the Cook's Warehouse Chef Demo from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Brookhaven Farmers' Market on Saturday, October 6.Β Chef Carlin is one of the resident chefs at The Cookβs Warehouse whose love of food and kids makes the perfect combination.Β

Neighborhood Party in Murphey-Candler Park with Mayoral Candidate Sandy Murray
What: Snacks and refreshments will be served.Β Kids and their parents are especially encouraged to attend. Mayor candidate Sandy Murray will be there to talk one-on-one with guests about her vision for the new city of Brookhaven.
