No ice threats for mid-January, but rain chances will stay in the forecast, with storms possible later in the week.

ATLANTA, GA — Rain chances are going to be staying in the forecast, but the temperatures will keep ice threats as a distant memory — or, at least weeks into the future, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
We'll start the shorter work week with a chance of showers Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures reaching over 70 degrees. There will be rain chances again Wednesday, with slightly cooler temps.
The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will be Thursday night and Friday, with another chance next weekend.

The long-range forecast will keep the temperatures above average into next week before returning back to normal, with a cold start to February.

Heres' the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:
Tuesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 66. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67.
Thursday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 54. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Friday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67.
Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67.
Sunday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
