2 Injured In Cartersville Police Shooting
Police said a man shot at two officers responding to a domestic disturbance call; and, the officers shot back, hitting two people.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — Two people were shot by Cartersville officers Thursday night after one of them shot at the officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance, police said Friday.
Cartersville Police said two officers were responding around 9:15 p.m. in the 60 block of Ann Circle, when a man came out of the front door and began shooting at both of them.
The officers were not shot, but their patrol vehicles had been shot several times, police said.

Police said the officers shot back, hitting the man several times and another person inside of the home. Both the man and the other person received medical care and were taken to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center. Their statuses are unknown.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is overseeing the probe into the shooting. Cartersville Police are conducting an internal investigation, as well.
