2 TX Men, Teen Steals $26K Worth Of Baby Formula: Cartersville PD

Police said the three people stole a total of 662 baby formula cans and were in possession of 12 stolen cans when they were arrested.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Two men and a teen were arrested Thursday after police say they stole 662 cans of baby formula worth $26,000 from various metro Atlanta stores.

According to the Cartersville Police Department Friday, a be on the lookout alert was issued for a car authorities said was used to shoplift baby formula from Publix Supermarkets.

Cartersville Police found the car at a Cherokee Place Publix and arrested the three people as they were leaving the store with 12 stolen cans of baby formula, police said.

When police searched the car, they said they found the 662 stolen cans of baby formula that had been taken from various stores in the metro Atlanta area.

Regulo Sanchez-Romero was charged on suspicion of driving while unlicensed, felony theft by shoplifting, felony theft by receiving and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

Mateo Sanchez-Romero is charged on suspicion of providing a false name and date of birth, felony theft by shoplifting, felony theft by receiving and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

The 16-year-old juvenile was not identified, and their charges were not released.

Both men had Dallas, Texas, addresses. They were taken to the Bartow County Jail, police said.
