Cartersville Crash Leaves 7 Injured, Police Say
The crash happened Thursday on GA-61 near Riverside Drive.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — Seven people were injured Thursday in a three-vehicle crash on GA-61 near Riverside Drive, according to a Cartersville Police crash report Patch received Friday.
According to the report, the crash happened around 12:45 p.m. A 2008 Ford 250 was heading east on GA-61, approaching Riverside, while a 2005 GMC Yukon was going west on GA-61.
While the Ford was making a left turn onto Riverside, the report said the GMC hit the Ford. The GMC driver told police the Ford turned in front of him.

The driver of a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta that was sitting at a stop sign told police the initial crash caused the GMC to hit his car.
Police said in the report the Ford failed to yield to the GMC. All three vehicles had front damage due to the crash, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford, a 22-year-old Acworth man, was taken to Floyd Medical Center for a hip injury, according to the report.
Two people were ejected from the GMC. One person was airlifted to Wellstar Kennestone Medical Center for head injuries while the other person was taken to Wellstar Kennestone for severe head injuries, according to the report.
A third person in the GMC was taken to Floyd Medical for unknown injuries. According to the report, two other passengers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The driver of the Jetta, a 25-year-old Dallas man, complained of a neck injury but was not taken to the hospital, according to the report.
