Capt. Jeff Black Graduates from FBI National Academy

Chief Thomas Culpepper is pleased to announce that Captain Jeff Black of the Cartersville Police Department was one of two hundred fifty-seven law enforcement officers who graduated from the FBI National Academy Program last Friday, March 16, 2012, at Quantico, Virginia.  The 248^th Session of the National Academy included men and women from 48 states, 28 international countries, three military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.

The Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.  FBI Director Robert Mueller was the principal speaker at the ceremony.

Captain Black said, “This was a very challenging experience, both mentally and physically.  I feel honored to have been able to attend the Academy.”

Chief Culpepper said, “The Cartersville Police Department is very fortunate to have Captain Black as a member of our Command Staff and we were proud to have him represent the City of Cartersville at the National Academy.  Captain Black is now the fifth member of our staff to have graduated from the National Academy.”

A total of 45, 553 graduates now represent the FBI National Academy since it began in July 1935.  Of this number, approximately 28,041 are still active in law enforcement.
