Small Business Invests in High School, Sport

In today’s tough economic times, everyone is feeling the affects of less money. One area is local sports teams.

With less money to spend, local teams are finding it tougher to get the much needed support to keep these beneficial programs going.

Local Allstate agent Bruce Thompson, saw the need and has stepped in to help the Baseball Team.

“God has blessed me, and I want to be a blessing back to this community,” Thompson said.

Friday, he presented another $5,000 to the team for the construction of batting cages to assist the baseball program.

With this $5,000 check, the Bruce Thompson Allstate Insurance Group has invested $10,000 into the baseball program at Cass High.

While this was a sacrifice for a small business in these times, Thompson believes he is making a sound investment. “Investing in the future of Bartow County is one that tough economic times can’t stand in the way of,” he said.

In addition to the financial donation, Thompson has also volunteered time in helping conduct mock interviews with students as well as working with Superintendent John Harper on ways to develop strong student leaders in all Bartow County Schools.

For Thompson, “Caring for our customers and our Community” is not just a motto, it’s a lifestyle that is lived out by him and his team.
