Cartersville Heights Among Best Nursing Homes: U.S. News

Only 26 facilities of 355 evaluated in Georgia were included on the Best Nursing Homes list from U.S. News & World Report.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A Cartersville nursing home is among the best in the country, according to a new list out Wednesday morning from U.S. News & World Report. Twenty-six nursing homes in Georgia were included on the list — only 7 percent of nursing homes evaluated in the state for the magazine's Best Nursing Homes.

Cartersville Heights received 4.6 stars out of 5. The nursing home is described by U.S. News as "moderate" sized, with 118 beds. The home's website notes, "Our facility was the first of its kind in this town, and continues to strive to meet the needs of our citizens."

U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes to come up with the slightly more than 2,000 included in the list of Best Nursing Homes. Millions of Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year, noted Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.

“Finding a nursing home that meets an individual’s specific needs can be challenging for families,” Kelly said in a release. “Our nursing home ratings are designed to help potential residents and their loved ones navigate this difficult process.”

U.S. News has also released its new Nursing Home Finder, providing a customizable tool to compare nursing homes based on a variety of factors, including location, distance, Medicare and Medicaid coverage and size.
