- A Cartersville man is accused of attempting to ram a police car with his own vehicle, then fleeing on foot. 35-year-old Kenneth Naymond Rogers faces charges of aggravated assault on an officer and fleeing or attempting to elude, along with multiple traffic offenses, after last week’s incident in the area of Ga. 20 East. - Saddle up for the Bartow County Championship Rodeo this Friday, Jul. 8! Head over to the Bartow County Saddle Club Arena here in Cartersville from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. for all the fun. This event's theme is Tough Enough to Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. (Visit Cartersville GA)
- Seth Hopkins, executive director of Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, will be judging an art competition as part of the upcoming 'Plein Air in the Smokies' event. The inaugural showcase, scheduled for Sep. 25-Oct. 2, will bring nationally-acclaimed artists to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee.
