Cartersville Man Held Family At Gunpoint, Led Police Chase: PD
The man was arrested after a PIT maneuver was conducted on his vehicle during the Cartersville police chase.
CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man accused of holding his family at gunpoint before leading police on a chase Monday is now facing charges, Cartersville Police said late Tuesday afternoon.
Police said officers responded around 7:15 a.m. to a Clearview Drive residence after a report that a man was holding his family at gunpoint. The man was then accused of trying to leave the scene with multiple guns.
When officers arrived, they found the man in a driveway inside of a vehicle. Police said the man refused to comply with commands, and instead, fled from the residence.

Cartersville Police were joined by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office as they chased the man. Police said deputies used a PIT maneuver at the Interstate 75 south entrance ramp near mile marker 290. The man, identified as Elisha Linley, was then taken into custody, police said.
Linley was charged on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of false imprisonment, failure to maintain lane, possession of firearm during a felony, reckless driving and fleeing and attempting to elude police.
