Cartersville Outperforms State On CCRPI Scores
The school system has released results of the 2018 College and Career Ready Performance Index.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — The Cartersville City School System outperformed the state on the 2018 College and Career Ready Performance Index, which measures student academic achievement and progress on an annual basis. That's according to results released Monday by the Georgia Department of Education.
The district outperformed the state with an overall score of 78.7, compared to Georgia's average of 76.6. The 2018 CCRPI is a redesigned version of the annual measurement tool for public schools and, therefore, cannot be used to draw direct comparisons from scores in previous years.
"We are pleased to see the success of our school system and its continued pattern of performing above the state average," said Superintendent Marc Feuerbach said." However, the CCRPI is one of many indicators
we use to measure the growth of students and the learning environment created in Cartersville City Schools. While the overall scores and details found within the index’s components and indicators are valuable, the real story is found in the teaching and learning that occurs daily in our classrooms."

The CCRPI accountability system is required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act, which replaced No Child Left Behind. The averages are calculated using data received throughout the year, including results from Georgia Milestones tests and graduation rates. Recent modifications made by the state to the formula places greater emphasis on progress made by English learners, economically disadvantaged students and students with disabilities.
