Disabled Archery-Only Deer Hunt Set For Dec. 3-4

Hunting blinds are by reservation only, and limited to participants permanently confined to a wheelchair or Purple Heart recipients.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — An archery-only deer hunt for disabled residents will be held Dec. 3-4 at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Allatoona Lake Project. Hunting blinds will be provided throughout McKinney Campground in Bartow County.

The use of each hunting blind will be by reservation only, and limited to participants who are permanently confined to a wheelchair or Purple Heart recipients. A non-hunting assistant may accompany each disabled hunter, and each hunter must possess a valid Georgia Big Game license.

Requests for reservations will be taken by phone or in person from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from through Nov. 15. The available limited spaces will be filled by lottery.
