  1. Carterville's Downtown Alive is returning this fall with a special twist! Vendor applications are now open for the fall festival which will take place on Oct. 15th, 2022. Applications can be submitted through the city here. (Downtown Cartersville via Facebook)
  2. Shaw Industries is opening a hiring center in downtown Cartersville to help job seekers find employment. The recruitment center will be located at 790 Joe Frank Harris Parkway and will officially open this Monday. Walk-ins are welcomed and encouraged. (Northwest Georgia News)
  3. It's officially college recruiting season as The University of Miami is scouting future Hurricanes. One such prospect is Jonathan Cline from Cartersville. Cline is a 3-start interior lineman and is visiting the university this weekend. (State Of The U)
  4. The Bartow County Farm Bureau is celebrating the Georgia Farm Bureau’s 85th anniversary this week! The GFB serves 250,000 members of the farmer community by providing benefits, insurance, and other opportunities. Deeply embedded in the city, the GFB has had roots in Cartersville for all 85 years.   5. On Monday afternoon, a fatal crash occurred near Cartersville on Highway 61. An Acworth woman, Tonya Sue Lofasso, died in a two-vehicle crash in White, Georgia on Highway 61 at Mahan Road. Lofasso was riding a motorcycle and was hit by a vehicle after she swerved into the left lane to avoid a collision with another. (WBHF Radio)
